Here's a pic of a good egg in my house...
Today I decided I needed to dye some "redware" colored wool since I will be hooking some eggs for the give-a-way. The colors came out awful in this pic but in person they are perfect - even held them up to my so few pieces of redware I have and it's a match! (Same as the eggs in the other photos of the hooked eggs - colors from my camera are just not true - or maybe it's the operator - yep - more like that)
I also put some onion skins in a pot and am dyeing some eggs - This past Saturday they were doing egg scratching on onion skin dyed eggs and it's such a pretty "redware" color - right now they are still in the skins and water overnight to get a darker color - this was right after they came off the stove... the girl doing the "scratching" also said you can keep the hard boiled egg from year to year it just dries out - i thought for sure it would "stink" - she said not - she even had one there she broke that day by accident from the previous year, and sure enough the inside was dried up...
Not sure if I will even attempt to scratch a design into them as I'm not so good at stuff like that but I do have a couple of the eggs wrapped in onion skins so they may make a nice design.
Again, don't forget to enter my contest (See April 1 post) - and I have given you more than one chance to enter! No correct answers yet but I have gotten some pretty funny ones and do love reading them.
So far no correct answer
-it is not anything for dating purposes in the past
-it has nothing to do with chamber pots
-it has nothing to do with carrying milk, or water from the well or whatever
-it is not a drying rack
Good luck! (Oh and it's not actually a wool holder either!)

I haven't died eggs since the kids were little.
Can't wait to see what that item is, lol.

I am still stumped!!!
Your onion skin dyed eggs are going to be wonderful. I saw someone do that and if I remember correctly they had put small leaves on the eggs and after dyeing removed them. Very cool.
Hugs :)

Hi Joanne, I am so stumped I am not even going to try to guess. I liked what it is but have no idea "what the what is" = Noah Webster would be shocked! Good luck with the onion skin eggs, they usually are great. Have fun!!
You know, Joanne...they have apps where you hold your iphone up to the radio that is playing a song and it tells you what song, artist, etc. I think someone should invent the app where you can hold your iphone up to an object and it would tell you what in the heck it is! I sure could use that app right now! haha.
Love the eggs dyeing in the pot!
Great woollies & eggs! No correct answer yet? Well... I'm just going to come right out & say it... it is a dodad thingymagig for your whatchamacallits! ;)
LOL LOL LOL, Love Betty's answer!
I think the funniest one I heard was yesterday when Linda guessed that it was a pouting chair for children. One on each side to sit LOL. That tickled me.
I have never heard of this but so interesting....Love all of the photos...My what would it be like if there were no cats? I adore them! Have a good day!
