Eyes Without a Face

Just wanted to say thank you for all your well wishes on my eye problem.

After four visits (in 11 days) to my regular eye doctor I was sent to an Opthamalogist who I saw today.  Just as I have been saying all along, there really is nothing wrong.  The antibiotics I was taking were unnecessary.  After a thorough exam they found no evidence of swelling, of irritation, or cloudiness.  He said the only thing he saw was some "overwear" (something in the blood vessels) which is caused from wearing ill-fitting or just happens to people that wear contacts for a long period of time.

So on that note, my friends that will have to see me in person will have to see me in my glasses for about two months.  No contacts to give my eyes a break (I've been wearing contacts for going on 35 years!)   After two months I can go back and get properly fitted and wear them again!

I had to giggle at the doctor, he said "do you have a problem with wearing your glasses for a few months".  I said Of course I do - I don't have prescription sunglasses and it's a pain in the ____ when it rains too!   So he tells me to get clip-ons.  I said CLIP-ONS, DID YOU SAY CLIP-ONS!   He started laughing and saying the clip-ons of today aren't like Grandpa's clip ons - that there are some pretty nice ones out there.  Well this remains to be seen until I can figure out where to buy "clip-ons" (Geez, if I'm not AARP crap in the mail from turning 50 this year, I'm being told to get CLIP-ONS!)  I'm not ready to grow up like this!  I'm just way too young for clip-ons!

This week I only managed to hook two small mats.  I'll post pics of the small mats I've been making when I get them all whipped.

The other night a friend sent me home with two little eggs filled with cat treats for Riley and Jonesy - they had a ball smelling them and trying to figure out how to get them open to eat the treats!   There are still a few treats left so if I rattle them - they both come running!

Didn't it seem like Easter was so far away this year and here we are - it's on Sunday!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day doing whatever you wish to do and enjoying time with whoever you choose to spend the day with!   Eat lots of chocolate - it doesn't count this weekend!

Joanne,
I'm glad your eyes are getting better! I gave up on contacts a few years ago. The fluorescent lights at school irritated them. Now, I need bifocals, but luckily my DH thinks they're cute. I'm not so sure about that! LOL
Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
Hugs,
Courtney

Jeesh Girlfriend......when we talked the other day, I did not even mention your eyes! I am so sorry!
You might try looking at LensCrafters for the hot clip-ons. I get all my glasses from them.....using my AAA/AARP......and I get a pretty fat little discount. Plus they offer coupons! They have a great array of hot sexy little glasses, plus clip-ons!
I had to buy 3 pair of glasses this year - yes, I did not stutter, I said THREE........and I was actually happy over the price they charged me, if you can imagine. Go online and look!!!! Trust me! Kiss those baby boys!

Geesh Joanne, You make it sound like maturing (notice not getting old) is a sin. it really is the nicest time of life - just wait - some day you will agree with me. Its a time to sit back, enjoy and laugh at the antics of the young.

Glad your eyes are going to stay with you for a while longer. They are a very valuable asset to the human body!

Happy Easter to you and yours.

Hi Joanne!
Glad to hear you are on the mend! As for those "Clip-Ons". I actually wear bi-focals and I have a pair of clip-ons for them. They are exactly the same size as my frames, so you would never know that they are clip-on sunglasses. The pair I have now I bought at K-mart. You can find them at all the drug stores, Target, our grocery store (Giant) even has a display of them. Try them...I think you will like them!
Happy Easter!

Glad your eye problems has an easy solution. Something tells me that you are not embracing this aging thing!!! It does "grow" on you and eventually you may like getting that senior citizen discount when your time comes...a long way off for you though!

Joanne, I haven't had the time to 'do' the blogs for some time now and I'm sorry to check in and find that you're having eye problems. I used to wear contacts for years until lack of money from being a single parent caused me to have to go to glasses all the time. Now, well, I just don't bother with contacts, especially dealing with the horses and all of the dust, hair, etc.

BTW, when I got new glasses back in January, I couldn't afford to do the Transitions lenses so I got clip-on sunglasses. I think they look okay but if someone thinks I look dorky, it's their problem, not mine.

So very sorry to read back and find that you're having problems with a poster who chooses to be nasty. You've been a wonderful and great friend to me and I can only wish that one day, I can be the fantastic rug hooker you are.

Go forth......and have fun.
JoJo
