Glitter in the Air

Wednesday I ventured out to Chambersburg for Thursday's Hook-In at Grant Street.

Always a lot of fun and always lots of inspiration and goings-on!  Missed taking a lot of pictures but here are some random photo's.

Kathy working on her rug (Yep she actually was hooking!)

See Kathy's rug in the background - she got a lot done!

Joan was there and had a bag of recycled wool - Linda was thinking of adding the buttons back on to this wool jumper - Hmmm maybe I need to take Linda shopping!

Michelle was there working on a punch needle piece she had just started...

Sherri was working on some adorable deer...

Teresa started a new rug...

Oh and remember if you go to Grant Street, be very very very careful what you say and do....some people have eyes in the back of their head...and they are watching you!  (That or Kathy's camera is out to catch you at your worst!)

Jill came and was working on her sheep rug, Barb was there quilting, Nancee was working on a new rug, Diane was working on her pink pig - and of course I forgot to get pics!

Me - I was whipping.  Linda thinks I don't hook (guess she thinks the kitties do the hooking) She says I'm using her place as the "whipping post" - Well I buckled down and got a few things whipped!

I needed to do some wool shopping - My stash is really really really low - I have dyed some and need to do more but I still needed to get some plus I have a few feather tree classes coming up and needed some green and off white wool (Okay I'm been stingy - do not want to use my hand dyed wool! LOL)  So today when I was at the co-op working I brought my wool in and ripped it into quarters!

I bought some of the "glittery/sparkly" wool - Linda overdyed some great colors with it and just had to try it myself - She also had a great idea to dye the green and make a feather tree.   So that's what I decided to do

My camera isn't capturing the true color - the original color of the glitter wool looks like wet sand...

I overdyed some Holly Green and got a nice dark green.  Also I overdyed some with a red and got a gorgeous red (again my camera sucks!) Also with the red I overdyed the ticking wool I got - love love love the red I got! (I know it looks dull and drab in the pic but it's a beautiful red and a rich green).  The bottom is some wool I dyed "wooly sheep" to make a dirty off white - it came great - now that wool looks drab but in the pic it looks bright! Go figure!

After I dyed wool tonight I decided to finish up the pillow I had hooked last week (I had run out of stuffing).  My stuffing came via UPS the other day so of course my supervisor had to check it out.   (By the way - What kind of stuffing do you like and is it hard to find?  The stuff our AC Moore and Michaels sell is crappy I think - it's too pouffy.  So far I like the morning glory stuffing - more cottony if that makes sense.  Can't find it around here - Thank goodness for Amazon.com and free shipping!)

My supervisor decided to "watch" me stuff pillows - Caught him falling asleep on the job!

The pillows...

Now I'm sure you want an update on the little guy Quentin!  He's growing up for sure and like I said before he's so independent.  He's all over the place - he does sleep in the hooking room at night by himself but he doesn't like it - the second you open the door he's out of there like a shot!

He and Jonesy are doing a bit better - Jonesy I think is a wee bit jealous and still plays a little rough but it's getting better.  Riley has been a gem with him and they seek each other out to play - it's so fun watching them.

This was on Tuesday - a rare occurrence anymore - he's in my lap...

Tuesday again - I was hooking and he was sound asleep holding his little mouse - When I snapped the pic he woke up...

This was tonite - He was sound asleep - heard me - stood up before he opened his eyes! LOL!

Always turning when I want a pic...

On Dad's belly probably wishing I would just go away with the camera!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Enjoyed seeing the photos of everyone at the hook in.
You really do a lot of rugs and such an antique look to them. Of course kitty photos are always loved, he is so so tiny.

I love your pictures, Joanne. And I envy you all of the hooking. My time is still being spent elsewhere, at least until the snow flies and it gets cold.

Quentin is so darn adorable. But you're giving me a SEVERE case of kitty fever.

Your dyed wool looks really nice. The glittery stuff will make great feather trees. Like snow sparkling on the branches.
Love the little mats! Especially the one with the tulips.
That Quentin just keeps changing every week. He's getting cuter, if that's possible! LOL!!! Good that Riley is accepting him well and being a helpful big brother.

Merry Christmas pillow has a new home already (less than 2 hours in the store!)...Joanne dyed it a marvelous brown and it just looked perfectly prim!
I so want to visit Grant Street - one of these days for sure- everyone always looks like they are having the "bestest" time!!!

Oh, I'm lovin' that rug that Kathy is hooking! And all your mats are so sweet. Everyone looks like they were having a productive day. I hope to venture out to GS again and have a bit more time to spend there. Maybe next summer?
Q is as cute as ever.
Hugs :)
