Hey Hey We're the Monkees

Good Morning - Here I sit with my little buddy on my lap

drinking coffee and should be getting in the shower - I have to leave in an hour or so to teach another feather tree class at the Cinnamon Stick.  Will be fun today - It's going to be a FULL house and I will also get to meet a fellow blog reader that read about the class and is coming.

Speaking of my little guy Jonesy - his new thing is to get me out of bed bright and early in the mornings just so he can sit in my lap - Honestly he'll bug me until I get up and then he'll run in the hooking room and sit  - the second I sit down in there he's in my lap and snuggled in like the pic above!  I love him to death but I don't get things done this way!

Earlier this week he was getting mad at me because I had the hooking frame pulled up and trying to hook so what's he do - crawls under my linen into my frame...

Doesn't make it very easy to hook with a full grown kitty in your frame....

Finally I got him settled down next to me - as you can see he couldn't get any closer to my hip if he tried...

He is a good guy nonetheless - he just hates to be alone - he always makes me feel bad when I leave the house as he follows me to the door and gives me those "eyes"!  Heartbreak here!

I have been busy finishing up some projects.  I have a couple of small orders which are done and just need to be delivered, some items I need to get over to the shop where I sell some rugs, and the deadline for getting my rugs to the Folk Art Sale is on Tuesday - and I will be delivering them on Tuesday - usually I'm ready beforehand but had too many things this past month.  After these deadlines then I will start to think about Christmas and gifts (maybe! Just not ready!)

Thursday Nettie and I ventured out to Grant Street.  Several of the gals wanted to make the feather tree so I came loaded down with kits and my whipping again (yes I do hook but seems I have enough to bring to whip on Thursdays!).

Sorry I didn't get any pics of anyone's rugs they were working on but I did snap a few pics of the girls working on their trees...

However, first thing Nettie is taking photo's - I hate getting my photo taken - - Got Nettie taking a pic of me.

Sandy and Sherri were my first two to sit down to make a tree...

Sandy got all her branches wrapped but had to leave early so I showed her how to finish up the tree.

After Sandy left Genny came and we got her started.  Sherri is just finishing up here tree and it looked wonderful.

While I was down at the one end I was missing the fun at the other end - Joan arrived with some monkey's hanging out of her bag - Sock Monkeys - I believe she made these.  Well next thing you know these darn monkey's were talking...

Then telling Linda secrets...  (was Kathy trying to eavesdrop?)

Then trying to get everyone's attention to discuss a hooking project I suppose..

After Sherri finished her tree she moved up to the other end and Bonnie and Jackie came to start their trees.  That is Genny with her finished tree and Bonnie working on hers.

Look at Bonnie and Jackie concentrating so hard!

Completed trees and Bonnie will be picking glue off her fingers for a while!

The trees all looked great! You have to wait until the glue is totally dry to "open" them but they will all be beautiful.  The wools everyone picked were great.  Hope you girls had fun and I want to hear about the forests you make!

Joanne ~
Great post! Thanks for sharing.
I'm sure it is very hard to hook with a kitty in your frame, but even at that, I'm sure you are faster than me.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs :)

Joanne, Could you please have Jonesy call Frito and Shadow and tell them how nice it is to sit on a lap? I can't get either one to sit with me and all I want is a lap cat! Riley was a lap sitter and my baby, I miss that. I threatened Shadow he was going back to the Human Society if he doesn't shape up, that threat doesn't scare Frito anymore...He turns his back on me and snoozes away in his dry sink on his pink princess blankie. Hope your class went well today. ~Ann

Joanne - I made a tree a few years ago when you posted the instructions on the Wool Snippets board (at least I THINK that's where it was) and it's still one of my favorites! Fun class!

Those are some great looking trees! It really is a good thing Jonesy is a cuddler... but does he have to wake you up to do so? lol! ;-)

The girls did a wonderful job on their trees.
Isn't it annoying when the furry ones decide to harass us only when we sit down to work on something;)

I've found out your secret Jonesy is your helper! Sure wish we could have came to your class on the trees. We sure enjoyed trying them on our own. Thanks for the great instructions!

Hi Joanne,
Oh, I wanted to be there and make another tree!!! I know I can do it on my own, but it's so much more fun with a group.
Life is good with a cat close by... like on top of you! Snuggling in with Mom is just the best thing ever!
Give those guys a smooch and tell them to keep up the good work!!!
