Wow how true is the above statement. I've always loved Ziggy! (Speaking here as if he was a real character instead of a comic) He's always has such a good spirit about him - things always go wrong but he always comes keeps plugging along. At one time I had a huge Ziggy collection - started collecting him in the mid 70's when I was in junior high and to this day I get the calendars yearly. I stopped buying the little collectibles (okay maybe one here and there). When we moved into this house 12 years ago - our spare bedroom (before I took up rug hooking) was stuffed full of Ziggy's collectibles right down to the sheets on the spare bed! I downsized the collection down to about 2 shelves in the craft room (thank goodness for EBay - back when the selling was good!) Anyway - Ziggy often has some very true statements to make!
Hasn't the weather been gorgeous the past few days - it's getting pretty hot during the day but cooler at nite. Hoping tonite cools off so I won't feel compelled to put on the AC!
Well being that my "dyeing" was successful on that pea green shirt - thought I would go into my closet and find some things I haven't been wearing and try some more - Here's some results:
This shirt was white and I never wore it cause it's a thin cotton - I'm not one of those that feel the need to flaunt my bra under my shirts (nor my white flesh!) Decided to go pink with this one since it had yellow embroidered circles/flowers across the bottom. I did another t-shirt that was already a pink and white - came out darker pink and pink!

This was another shirt that was pure white! Dyed this one red (my favorite color) Funny even the clear buttons took on some of the color!
This past weekend I got a bee in my bonnet to shop - watch out when that happens! LOL! Actually my quest was for shoes - always looking for shoes - I have the widest feet in the world I think. As a kid my Mom had to order my shoes and I always had the ugliest shoes. When I complain to my Mom about the ugly shoes I had to wear back then she always says "At least you don't have bunions and corns from wearing cheap shoes"! Too funny. Put it this way - I wore saddle shoes when saddle shoes weren't cool - and they were brown and beige to boot - not the standard black and white!
I happened upon the a store that was having a huge sale (and it's rare you will find me buying something that is not on sale!) 10% off then another 50%. Now most stores rarely carry wide widths let alone have them in stock. Found a pair of sandals I liked and they had a tag "Multiple widths" on them - There was this nice teenage boy that asked if he could help me - I'm thinking "could you cut off a few toes then I will be able fit in these shoes" but I asked him if he had more stock in the back. No, but he did tell me to take the shoes I liked to the counter and they would order them for me - Well I'm thinking - ughhh shipping costs! He then proceeded to tell me free shipping, plus I can still get the 10% and then the 50% and they will ship them to my house! SOLD! Okay - cool what do i have to lose - if they don't fit I can return them right back to the store rather than shipping back. I'm happy to report they came today - a little tight - but since they are all leather I will break them in (the norm for me)!
I also found a few other things in the store. I love bags and things - always carrying something somewhere - so you can say I'm a bag lady - Well I was telling my friend Kathy via email about my purchases and she said she loved bags too and wanted to see pics of them - so Kathy - here they are! LOL
This is really a laundry bag - it's huge and nice heavy canvas and has a shoulder strap - This shall be used for wool of course and carrying rugs! Couldn't believe it - i got it for under $10 - it was 10% and then an additional 70% on an already marked down price! I was tickled 'pink' (and blue) so to speak with it!
Then I found this one too for under $10 - love the summer look to it (okay I know, I know - it's a bag!)

Love those bags Joanne!!! Your clothes came out awesome too. What a way to recycle and make them into something new. Good for you!
