Nothing Says Christmas Like A Big Blow-Up Plastic Thing - YEA RIGHT!

Okay - just wanted to say the neighbors are decorating their lawns and as much as I enjoy looking at everyone's decorations and seeing the nice lights and things, there is one type of Christmas decorating I can't take - those big blow-up plastic things! Yes, I know beauty is in the eye of beholder and I'm sorry if I am offending those of you that have them but I just can't understand and really do not know why they bother me but they do - Okay - one may be okay - if you have a really really really really really large lawn - but picture this - the neighbors across the street have FIVE in a 30 x 30 space (we live in a townhouse development - it's back in the woods and plenty of space but still - five??? ) There are Homer Simpsons, Grinches on Motorcycles, Big Snow Globes, Frosty the Snowmen's and more - Even one is too much for this size yard I think! LOL! In the morning when i go to work and its early and quiet and no one's out, I feel like i'm driving thru a murder scene with no survivors - they way they lay deflated across the lawns!

It's raining tonite but I'll try to get some pictures this weekend - So everyone can see what I see! hahahahah - All I can say is thank goodness for my blinds!

Wishing everyone beautiful Christmas Scenery!

...let yourself daydream....joanne

Ohhhh Joanne... I am laughing hysterically at the murder scene reference!!!!!! I have thought the same thing! One can be nice when it's "up and functioning", but during the day when they are down.... oooooooooh, I'm melting!!! Anyways, looking forward to the pics! My front lawn is 50 x 30 and I could not imagine what FIVE of those buggers would look like on that small of a lawn... :-) They ain't cheap either...

Those things make me nuts too. I like the simple decorations, a few lights to frame the house, a nice wreath and candles in the windows.

Joanne, Too funny. I'm right there with ya! Saw and ad in the paper the other day and jokingly I said "George, there is a big blow up Christmas elephant for our front lawn for sale". His only remark beside the "look" was "A Christmas elephant??" lol.
So every time Nicole and I see these things, we say "we should have gotten the elphant"!

Okay, Joanne, add me to the class of the blown up, lawn decoration haters. I can't stand those things! I live on a relatively small, 5 house cul-de-sac and the middle house puts these things up. Last Christmas, they had 4 or 5 of these things and their front yard is fairly small. I think everybody is aware of "Kansas wind." These things were drifting and blowing all over the lawn. And you're right.....they DO look like a murder scene when they're deflated!!

Now another house less than a block away has several of them on their lawn too. They're tacky and ugly.

Can't they just settle for some pretty lights and support the electric company like the rest of us?

OMG Joanne,
I saw some today laying there flat and remember your reference to a "murder scene" and couldn't help but laugh!! People probably thought I was a nut driving down the road by myself laughing at ????

They may be right though;o)

Me too. Can't stand them. What's happened to the meaning of Christmas? My own niece is one of the ones with 4 or 5 of them. I don't dare tell her how ridiculous they look in their tiny lawn. They have a seven year old and would say it's for her. Seven year olds can have good taste too!?!?!?!

I'm so tempted to sneak up to those houses and DISinflate their ugly decorations - but I think that would be illegal! LOL
