June Is Busting Out All Over

Today is an absolutely brilliant beautiful day - the sun is shining, there is a breeze blowing, and there is no humidity.  Summer/Spring can just stay this way!

Well I can't say I'm much of a gardener - I don't have the "green thumb" nor the desire to play in the dirt, yet I do like too see things growing.  My husband does the outside work, not a lot of it, and not consistently but eventually it gets done.   I just buy the things to plant and he puts them in.

So the other week when I met up with Sharon at Renningers I picked up some tomato plants - thinking each was one plant I bought 6 tomato plants.  Well I was wrong - there was 4 in a pack! LOL  I'm thinking if they all grow and produce we will be seeing a lot of red this year!

I also bought what I thought was one hot pepper plant and one cherry pepper plant - so that would be 4 of each of those!

We live in a townhouse and here in Spring Mount the ground is mostly rock and things just do not do well so we plant in planters.  Well here a sampling of our back yard and deck....

More on the other side!

I have been hooking a bit lately.  I made a few little mats and sold them, made a few for gifts, and the latest on my frame I was just messing around and did this much...

And now stumped as to what to put in the center....

Riley is thinking it over for me...

I didn't go to Grant Street yesterday but did go out last week and had a good time.  Finally got to see Pat and share stories with her (she has 5 cute kitties!).  I didn't get a pic of her rug but it's on her blog and it's gorgeous in person!   Oh and I'm jealous she already has tomatoes!

Linda and Kathy of course were acting up again.... Kathy was strutting her stuff down the woolly catwalk...
(I think there was a rubber band fight going on too!)

I stayed a couple of nights at Lindas.  After hanging out with Kathy on Friday (Are you tired of me yet?), Linda, Kathy and I went to late night bingo on Friday night -

Linda's all set and ready to play...

Kathy is all relaxed and ready to play...

Well at intermission Linda ran out to her car (she had a bag of sheets going to the goodwill) and grabbed some sheets and passed them out - It turned frigid cold in there (guess they were trying to keep up awake) from the air conditioning!  Too funny!

Been trying to clean up my hooking room this week but just do not know where to go with everything.  I started rearranging stuff and do not like it so it all sits and it's a bigger mess than when I started!

Had another eye doc appointment this week and I can finally order my contacts - so waiting for them to come in - will have to go back one more time in a month since it's a new brand and kind and my eyes are so sensitive to solutions and even certain brand contacts but so far so good!  I can see! I can see!

Next week is filled with more appointments, dentist (ughhh!), hair, doctor, etc.,  but I'm hoping to get out to Grant Street if they aren't tired of me yet!

Well I'm off to the pet food store - I mentioned before how Riley is addicted to those certain treats - well they are having a big sale this week on them - only $1 a pack so I need to stock up while the sale is on.  I went grocery shopping the other day and was just appalled at how the prices are jumping up lately - not even just a few cents but things are going up a few dollars at a time!   I mean we all want to eat healthy and good natural foods but it's getting too hard to even afford lettuce!  Hoping to get to a farmer's market this weekend and hoping they have some good options!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I love your new rug project and I can't wait to see what you'll do with the middle space! Or rather, what Riley will suggest!
My father-in-law is putting up some tomatoes for me for when we move. I just love home-grown!
Have a great weekend!

Joanne, I wish that I could attend your hook in. It always sounds like you girls are having a ball.

If you get too many tomatoes you can share the surplus or freeze them whole just like that and use them in soups. No need to blanch them. To use them I just stick them in a boiling pot of water and slip the peel off and then thaw then.

I always plant too many too. The seeds are so small. It hard to remember how big they grow, lol. JB

Oh you will most likely have an overabundance of tomatoes. Did the same mistake in NJ. Never great anything before, only I KNEW i bought that many. I thought IF "just one" takes I'll be happy. I couldn't give them all away. Such a waste lol.
Love the hit or miss. You will think of something just perfect for the center.
Had a ton of fun at bingo, even though you both picked on me lol. Looking forward to seeing you again sooooon!!

Joanne ~
You will have lots of tomatoes to share. Yum! Nothing like home grown tomatoes warm off the vine.
Sounds like you are busy like always. That's what I need to do ~ get off this darned machine and get busy!
Hugs :)
