So after talking with them several times yesterday - my Dad is doing good and settling into his new routine - I kept telling him not worry about things that this is just going to be his "new normal" and do not think of all these new steps as problems but just as his new routine.
I just want to thank all of you who asked about him and those who sent their good thoughts and prayers - It really helped - thank you.
I thought perhaps I would hook a bit yesterday - but this is what I find whenever I go to use my frame lately - someone has adjusted my rug in a lump and is quite comfy:
Boy he looks tired doesn't he - didn't have the heart to move him!
I decided since the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day yesterday I would go out and just meander around. Decided to head out towards Lancaster, lots of good thrift stores and I was in the mood to poke around. Found some sewing needs and "things" and didn't even spend more than $2 at each place and got a few bags full. Stopped and got some fresh veggies and fruit and stopped at the Flower and Craft Warehouse for some supplies I needed for kits. So it a good day out. Sometimes just heading out the door and going where the wind takes you makes for a good day.
Today it is overcast and starting to rain and heard a rumor it was supposed to get colder. Hope not - I am enjoying the days getting warmer - not colder!
I'm meeting my husband for lunch today so I better get a move on.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day
Joanne

Hey Joanne, so glad to read that things are getting back to normal, even if it's "new normal!" Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. Can't wait to see "sweet kitty bed" that you're working on. Looks prim and lovely!!!
It's great to hear that your Dad is home! You have an excellent way with words... the "new normal".... that just states it perfectly! Soon, he will settle in and be just fine with everything. Riley is so handsome plunked in your frame! Sounded like you had an awesome "reset day" yesterday! I agree with you completely about getting out the door and roaming... great for the spirit!
Joanne, it makes me happy to read that your dad is home and working on his new routine. He'll adjust and even a new routine is better at home than in the rehab center.
Love the picture of Riley on your rug and frame. His coloring is so beautiful, or handsome.
Your day out sounds great. I call those days "mental health days." Many years ago, when I was divorced and working full time, I would call in sick to work, call the kids in sick at school and we'd take a beautiful spring or fall day, head for the park and have a picnic, and then spend time on the swings. It's amazing how much a day like that can change your attitude.
Hey Joanne...sorry I've not been around much, lately. Am back at it, though...
So glad to hear that your Dad is at home...that must be such a huge relief. Always better to be 'home'. Love Riley cat in the rug frame! That's one thing Tag cannot try...hahahahahahaha!!!!
Happy Spring to you!
Happy to hear your Dad is home again... that must make you all feel better. :) Your rug & Riley are darling! You gotta tell him to move though because I wanna see it finishes. :)
Smiles,
Betty
