Overwhelmed by a Friend's Generosity

Well I just don't know what to say. I was out running errands all day and when I came home I got my mail. Inside my mailbox was a large priority box! I couldn't imagine what was in there - but of course ripped into it - and inside was a rug hooked kitty:

Here is a closer pic of him:

Isn't he cool - He's got a "great attitude" with that look and so prim. He was made by my friend Cathy of Hooked on Primitives. She makes a lot of 3-d items and sells patterns and her items mostly on eBay. Check out her blog, it's always full of her newest creations and she's always giving the best dye advice - http://hookedonprimitives.blogspot.com/. Right now she has a give-a-way going for some of her hooked flowers which are awesome.
The back of this kitty is homespun fabric which is handstitched together with the hooked part and stuffed - nice and weighty too - He's a big boy! Cathy does wonderful work.
OH my goodness Cathy - I just can't believe what a generous heart you have. I am truly overwhelmed at your gift and absolutely LOVE IT ! With all you do, I just can't believe you found the time to even mail a package! I also want to thank you for the little tarts I forgot to mention in my email - I was so excited with the kitty! I don't know what I did to deserve a friend like you! I'm sending you hundreds of hugs thru cyberspace.
For those of you that rug hook or are part of any online groups - isn't it amazing how people you have never met face-to-face become such a big part of your life? How you can just tell who is kindred spirit with just an email or reading a post. How sometimes these friends come to know you better than people you have known (in person) for years? Is it the connection of creating and love of the same things? Why is it? What is it? I do not have any answers but I do know I have met some wonderful people - some I have met in person - some I haven't (but hope to someday)
I have found in my travels online and in person that rughookers are mostly a kind and generous group. Always giving and never expecting anything in return.
One group I belong to has a list of people which we call the RAK list (Random Acts of Kindness). It's so much fun to read posts when someone has received a surprise in the mail (be it a handmade gift, a card, or whatever) from someone - Often it's when someone really needs a boost or a smile. These smiles stay long after the package is opened.
Well anyway - I just wanted to publicly thank Cathy. I know such generosity makes me want to be a better person.
Joanne (who's smiling ear to ear!)

Chasing Away the Winter Blues

Well they say it's Spring - I'm waiting for the weather to turn "Spring-Like" and stay there!

A few weeks ago Kelley put forth the "Winter Blues Swap" to our online group. Yesterday I got my winter blues chaser package in the mail! Jo got my name and sent me some lavender seeds, some blue woolly worms, some blue wool yarn, some linen oil, some blue buttons, and a St. Patty's Day Card which said the following - "What's Irish and just sits around the backyard all day and night? - "Patty O'Furniture"! Have to remember that one to tell my Dad, he's the king of corny jokes. Thank you Jo!

In another effort to chase away my Winter Blues, on Friday I was walking down the Boardwalk enjoying the view and sounds of ocean. Love being near the ocean no matter what the weather. It was a nice day! As I walking along I see a whole gaggle (hmmm herd, pride, flock????) of cats. Me being me has to see if I can pet them. Surprisingly a lot of them were very friendly. They apparently live there under the boardwalk and someone feeds them. A woman was telling me that they are feed daily and they take them and neuter them and then clip their ears so they know who was neutered I guess. First I'm feeling sorry for them but they have plenty of warm spots to sleep, lot of fresh food and water, the ocean nearby and with that of course, their giant litter box, and people to pet them all day long. All the cats I saw were bright and shiny and not matted and dirty and they were all big and well-fed!

Here's one that i had been petting - he was a nice big Tuxedo and just adorable and sweet:

What a life - their own sundeck with the ocean in the background -

This one was extremely friendly - kept rubbing and coming back for more pets and rubs!

I spent a while sitting on the step talking to and petting the cats and then continued on my walk.
While I was away, my parents called me. My Dad got some very good news Friday morning after another test - he's not able to eat again. He was over the moon as not eating has been very hard on him. He loves to eat! Now he just needs to gain some weight and hopefully will be able to do so and hopefully things won't break down again and stop working.
Today is a lazy day - dreary out and of course Riley and Miles are under blankets on separate beds napping. If you peak under the blanket you get the "hairy eyeball" that says to leave them be! Hmmm why doesn't the hairy eyeball work when they want to wake me up?
Hopefully I can get to some hooking today!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! joanne

Sleeping in Kinda Day

Birthday Boy after the Celebration (that's a heating pad he's laying on!)

Looks like he's passed out doesn't it! And no, I didn't get my big guy drunk - he just sleeps in the weirdest positions.
Riley loves his catnaps - he spends whole days taking one long nap- then the next day he'll but up and raising hell! He's too funny - today was a napping day.
Wish I could say I gave him a special treat on his birthday - but he is my first cat that doesn't care for treats, will NOT touch people food - even if i put it in his dish, and does not beg for food . So he was happy to know that a lot of you celebrated for him! (Jill - Chocolate with peanut butter is one of his favorite he said - not that he's tried it - he just knows I love it!)

He had a good day regardless -we played with his little mice, his milk rings, his balls, and he and my husband spent a few hours fishing last nite (it's a fishing pole with a mouse tied on the end - that way my husband can sit on his butt and just cast it and reel it in! )

Isn't it weird though that he won't eat anything but his pet food? Miles on the other hand is a pest when we eat - he comes out of nowhere and uses his "grabby" paws and will literally take things off your fork when it's on the way to your mouth! He's almost 16 and doesn't (can't) do much but sleep and lay around since he has a hard time walking around with his bad hip - but if there is food in the room he pretty much turns into a kitten again trying to get it!

Shrimp - did someone say shrimp?

Shrimp is Mile's favorite - if i pull out the pot to boil water he assumes shrimp is going into the pot even if it's spaghetti or whatever! He cries and acts like he's starving! Used to be he would jump on the counter but he can't anymore. Believe me if I'm making shrimp - i make extra for him! Now of course he's not spoiled.

Haven't hooked all week - cleaned up the hooking room and was afraid to blow it up again - Just kidding - just been kinda lazy! I'm going away for a couple of days to re-charge and hopefully when I get back I will be ready for the new challenges and also finishing up my rug I'm working on!

Time for bed - Goodnite!

Today's Number is THREE

Yep today's magic number is three! Today is Riley's birthday - Hard to believe my little guy is 3 years old! Seems like it was just yesterday when we brought him home - So in honor of his birthday - here's a small collection (hardly had any to choose from - yea right!) of some photo's in no particular order of my little knucklehead!

This is one is when he was probably about 1 1/2 years old:
This is the spare room bed - he gotta hold of this prim doll and made it his - she's still in pretty good condition but if you look under her dress there are a lot of teeth marks on her butt! Too funny - He's almost a year old here:

He's a picture of him the first week he had him - his eyes were running and nose was running - he had a cold - took a few rounds of antibiotics but he finally got over that- I felt so bad for him - he was as big as my hand and sneezing then!:

Here's a pic of him - he would also sleep on Ziggy's nose (Ziggy the cartoon comic - i have like a 3 foot ziggy - hard to believe he used to fit on that nose! We was 2 months here - the first week we brought him home:

Here he is in the windowsill at about 6 months old - sleeping in the sunbeams! Little guy with big paws!

This is him at about 3 months old playing with a ball on our bed - he sure does love to play:

And here he is sunning himself again at about 2years old:

I always find my little man in the funniest spots - here he is tucked away in a fabric box i store rugs in under the bed! He can unzip it and crawl in - he's too smart for his own good - He's around 2 here:

Now some pictures from today - "Hey Mom, I dare you to touch my ring and throw it, I Double Dog Dare you!"

"But Mom - It's my Birthday - i don't have to get up this morning - oh man - get that camera away from me - I still have on my morning fur"

"Okay I guess you were right - it was the best thing to get up and go take a nap downstairs in the sunbeams - Ahhhh life is good"

Riley wants everyone to eat cake today in honor of his birthday and maybe some chicken (his favorite) for dinner!
So Happy Birthday Riley and thank you or bringing a smile to my face everyday with your whisker kisses and antics!

How Does Things Get So Out of Hand So Fast!

I don't know about the rest of you, but when my area is semi-cluttered I just can't settle down and get creative. Oh believe me, I am by no means a "clean-freak" but when things are piled up and cluttered around me I just can't seem to get anything done.

When I started rug hooking a bit over 4 years ago I told myself I wouldn't go crazy and buy everything I see or buy more than I need. I was pretty good on that - sure I have a couple of patterns waiting in the wings, and have gone thru several frames finding my favorite (thank goodness for eBay for re-selling items!) , but wool - just where did i get all this wool - yet sometimes I just don't feel I have enough! I think most rug hookers are like this!

Well anyway - my rug hooking room is where I spent most of my time - It's the room where I pay bills, watch TV and hook or work on the computer, even eat dinner up here a lot of times!

I decided this morning it was time to find the floor in here - forgot to take "before" picks but here are a few pics to prove there is a floor in here!

Here are my large fabric boxes full of woolly worms - they were all over the place spilling out - under the bed, on the floor - all over the daybed! I corralled them all and put the lid on it! The daybed cover is a blue denim which i took off and washed along with all the pillows on the bed!

This corner is in front of the closet - beside the TV - and in front of the cubes of wool I have - this morning I couldn't get to the closet for all the wool I had laying around in piles and tubs of yarn and things -
Look - can you believe it - the top of my pie safe was covered in more piles of wool - yep there is a printer under there! And image, the doors to the pie safe close now - I keep my lights and wool to over dye in there (well some of it!).

I won't show you under the quilt and ticking but this is where my metal cubes are and they are stuffed full of wool (Hey it's off the floor - now to organize under there!) I didn't take a pic of my cobbler's rack either - need to do some serious folding of wool on that!

So that's the proof that there is some organization going on in my little crafting corner of the world.
Again I would like to thank you all for your kind words and good wishes for my Dad - he called me today just to chat - he's feeling as good as can be expected and said he was lifting 5 pound weights today to "build himself" back up! And trying to walk around as much as he can to get some exercise. I think that is key to get as much as strength back as he can. So this is all a good thing!
Well it must be Saturday nite as it's bath time (Oh and that chair - earlier today there was no way even Riley would have fit on there with all the junk on it!)

Check out this mug - I swear he's saying "Mom - Do I take pictures of you when you are in the bathtub?" Well I guess he told me with that hairy eyeball! -

Well the Tiger is done his bath and I'm thinking he wants my attention - he's starting to poke around into things - When he doesn't get the attention he wants when he wants it - he starts getting bratty and knocking things around - never hurts anything - just makes it known HE'S IN THE ROOM! I admit it - I'm a sucker for a fur face and will drop everything to play with him.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

Life Goes On

Finally on Tuesday my Dad got to come home. He he now settled into his own house. Lots of problems on Tuesday with the medical staff not following through on things which stressed out my parents - but finally at 8:00 that evening the necessary equipment and personnel showed up show them what needed to be done.

So after talking with them several times yesterday - my Dad is doing good and settling into his new routine - I kept telling him not worry about things that this is just going to be his "new normal" and do not think of all these new steps as problems but just as his new routine.

I just want to thank all of you who asked about him and those who sent their good thoughts and prayers - It really helped - thank you.

I thought perhaps I would hook a bit yesterday - but this is what I find whenever I go to use my frame lately - someone has adjusted my rug in a lump and is quite comfy:

Boy he looks tired doesn't he - didn't have the heart to move him!

I decided since the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day yesterday I would go out and just meander around. Decided to head out towards Lancaster, lots of good thrift stores and I was in the mood to poke around. Found some sewing needs and "things" and didn't even spend more than $2 at each place and got a few bags full. Stopped and got some fresh veggies and fruit and stopped at the Flower and Craft Warehouse for some supplies I needed for kits. So it a good day out. Sometimes just heading out the door and going where the wind takes you makes for a good day.

Today it is overcast and starting to rain and heard a rumor it was supposed to get colder. Hope not - I am enjoying the days getting warmer - not colder!

I'm meeting my husband for lunch today so I better get a move on.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day

Another Weekend Blows Right On By...

Just where does the time go - seems like it was just January and here we are half way thru March. It's what they say when you are young, enjoy it then cause it goes by so quick.

Saturday I spent most of the day with my Dad and then I came home and decided to bake some sugar cookies - i put in some Easter colored M & M's to "Spring-Like" them up. I am so ready for Spring this year it's not funny. Cookies are pretty tasty even though I need them like I need a hole in my head!

Saturday night around 8:30 i felt the "need" to hook and still am on the fence on what to do next on a rug I'm working on so I got out a piece of linen and drew up some "eggs" and started hooking. Well I was up pretty late and then got up this morning and finished the third one. I got them cut apart, serged, and steamed and took them with me to care center to finish. Stayed with my dad most of the day and just "whipped" my eggs - He was funny - my Mom got up to leave and he said something thinking both my Mom and I were leaving - and I told him I wasn't leaving until I was done whipping my eggs. He got a good giggle and told me I could stay as long as I wanted and he actually wished i had a few more to whip! LOL! Left there and picked up Chinese food (all Sharon's fault for mentioning Chinese!) and came home in time to watch Amazing Race!

Anyway here are my eggs, not sure I may list them on Ebay but after reading discussions on some of my groups it seems sales are down for most so not sure what I will do them. I made them egg-shaped and tried to make them look like Redware and Yelloware. (Of course my photography is off for colors!)

Well there was also some good news - My Dad is doing really well in his rehab and they are talking Tuesday to bring him home. So they are seeing about all the arrangements on when they can train him, my mom, and I on what we need to do for him but after almost a month of hospitlization, he will be much happier than at home. It will be a big lifestyle change on many levels but just being at home and getting to a "new" normal I'm sure will make him feel better.

There is only a 50/50 chance that he will be be completely healed without all the tubes and things or he may have to live them with for the rest of his life. Still he's in good spirits and has ants in his pants to get out of there!

Hoping everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great week ahead.

Sweet dreams - Joanne

Busy Week- New York, Dad, Sping Sighting, Moose Sighting

What a Week! I'll start out with an update on my Dad. I was in New York until Tuesday and didn't get to see his temporary "digs" at the Rehab center until Wednesday. Spent the afternoon with him. Here is a pic of him - He looks so good compared to a week ago and a week before that!

It's hard to believe this all has been going on for almost a month - Hopefully he'll be able to go home soon where he belongs. He's going beyond what therapy expects of him and they are already talking about moving up his release date. It was so funny - I went to therapy with him the other day and they were trying to show him how to walk with a cane - of course he lets them go on and on not telling them he's been doing laps in his room continuously! He wants out of there NOW! One thing I will tell you - if you ever have someone in this type of environment - please just pay attention - there were several things that happened and thank goodness my Dad has his wits about him and knows what meds he's supposed to take and knows his own body otherwise I may not have been able to take that picture due to incompetence. Just amazing on some of the little things that happened - yet this place is supposed to be "one of the better" ones. My old bosses mother was in this facility and they "od'd" her at one point - but it was suppose to be better since they have a liaison now that oversees things! We shall see!

When I got home from New York - I walk in the house and I guess Miles was saying "Hi Mom- I'll be right with you after I finish my dinner" Geez - of course he got a big hug and a squeeze and then put back in front of his dinner. Riley gave me the cold "paw" for about an hour - wouldn't let me kiss or hug or hold him - however he wouldn't let me out of his sight - then finally he allowed rubs and hugs! Cats are too funny!

Today I went to my guild meeting in Flemington, New Jersey - as I was leaving i looked over in my garden (if you can call it that) and I do believe Spring is coming - some daffodil's were peaking out -just had to take a pic of proof.

Also there was also a rare sighting of Sharon B today!

Just kidding Sharon! Everyone seemed to enjoy seeing her picture a while back so I told her I had to take another one for the blog! Sharon brought some wonderful rugs everyone loved for show and tell at the meeting - and darn it - forgot to get a picture! So after the meeting we went to lunch (thanks for lunch Sharon!), and then went to a couple antique stores! So it was a good day out and the bonus was the sun was shining!
New York was a fun time. We did everything I mentioned in my previous post. The Marvelous Wonderettes was a great fun play - the Sex and the City tour was fun - would have been so much better had it not been raining. And the ABC Daytime show was great as always - tried to take some pics but we were in the balcony and I had someone sitting in front of me that was almost a head and a half taller than his girlfriend and he didn't sit still - so they aren't that clear - Here's a pic of Cameron Mathison (who MC'd the event) Susan Lucci and him both did a dance since they were both on Dancing with the Stars:

Here's a pic of Anthony Geary (Luke of the Luke and Laura fame) singing his heart out - who knew a lot of these actors had such singing talent.

Last Friday before I went to the hospital I stopped at the local "primitive country" store that sells hand-dids and such - I picked up this adorable 'crock bunny" - just found him so grungy cute - just couldn't leave him there. Thought it was cute idea - You can see how he's made -

And here he is in one of my crocks:

I'm hoping they offer some other "crock" animals like maybe a cat - will have to mention it to them - been wondering what to put in this crock!
Hard to believe it's Friday already! Time really flies. After the guild meeting today - came home all inspired to hook - so hopefully will get to pick up a hook sometime this weekend. I am going to look tonite but I think I finally got all my rugs whipped that needed it and just need to re-steam them and label them (yes Kathy then they will be finished!)
Wishing everyone a great weekend with whatever life brings your way - joanne

New York Here I Come!

First - some good news - My Dad has been released from the hospital into a manor care facility for rehab (he's still calling it his halfway house!) He's thrilled to be getting out of the hospital as this will be one step closer to coming home! There is a lot to learn yet before he comes out of the rehab but they will have people there to show us everything we need to know - after rehab he should be able to do all the daily care things himself but just in case we are going to learn everything about his care of the tubes and all that ourselves. Either way - my Mom and my brother went to get him this evening from the hospital and take him to the care facility. The reason I didn't go is just a weird phobia I have - about five years ago I went to the hospital to visit my Nana the night before I left for New York and about 20 minutes after I left she died - So I refuse to visit anyone in the hospital before I go away - Okay okay - call me weird or superstitious but even my Dad agreed with me we should be "safe rather than sorry"!

Well it's time for some fun! This is an annual trip to New York (and I have my Dad's blessing - he said he has his Badge of Courage and he'll be fine without me for a few days and besides he can call my cell phone anytime - I'll leave it on) to go to the ABC Daytime Broadway Benefit - it started about five years ago and my husband surprises me with tickets every year for my birthday. The first three years the show was in early February but the last two years it's been in March. The first two times I went with my husband but he had enough! He does love to go to New York but he'd rather just walk around the Village and shop at the record stores and stop in the Pubs. The last few years my friends and I have been going - we do almost the same thing but we have margaritas or chocolate martinis and shop at Macy's and walk around SoHo and shoe stores or whatever! LOL!

Okay if anyone cares to see what I'll be doing - here's my itinerary!

I love to drive but have absolutely no desire to drive into NYC so I will drive to Hamilton NJ and hop the train.

Sunday afternoon we will be seeing the off-Broadway play "The Marvelous Wonderettes" - This play looks like so much fun - Here's a link to the official website and a little blurb below from the website about it:

http://www.marvelouswonderettes.com/

"THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTESis a cotton-candy colored, non-stop pop musical blast from the past!Featuring your favorite songs from the '50s and '60s, THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTEStakes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet the Wonderettes - Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts and voices to match! As we learn about their lives and loves,we are treated to the girls performing such classic 50’s and 60’s songs as“Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,”“Lipstick on Your Collar,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,”“It’s My Party,” “It’s In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)”and so many more! You’ve never had this much fun at a prom and you will never forgetTHE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES- a must-take musical trip down memory lane!"

Monday we will go on a bus tour around the city - it's the Sex and the City Tour - it sounds like a blast - the reviews for this have all been good and you don't even have to be a fan of the show. There are stops throughout the tour - here's a link so you can see some of the fun sites we will see:

http://www.screentours.com/tour.php/satc/

Then Monday evening is the Broadway Cares Aids Benefit - again I'll put a link below - Susan Lucci and Cameron Mathison (he was on Dancing with the Stars) will be hosting and I'm not sure which of the girls from The View will be there, besides the daytime stars, there also will be performances from some Broadway stars - this year will be Billy Elliot. It's always a fun nite.

http://www.broadwaycares.org/events/ABCDaytime.cfm

Then on Tuesday we will eventually come home - not sure what we will do Tuesday - probably shop! One thing nice about taking the train as opposed to the bus is you can at almost anytime catch a train out of Penn Station whereas with the bus you have a limited choice.

I already have my camera packed so hopefully I'll remember to use it and actually take pictures!

So that's all I have to report - I will be away for a few days and my husband will be home keeping the home fires burning and taking care of my boys (Miles and Riley).

Wishing everyone a wonderful healthy week!

Life is Sure a Rollercoaster With It's Ups and Downs

Well first I must apologize for not updating sooner - So many of my friends have been asking about my Dad and I've been sending you to the blog for updates - and then I had the nerve not to update! Lately when I have gotten on the computer it has been just to read and "lurk". Yep I know - so unlike me - I tend to go on and on and on an on..... Haha!

It's been since February 18 since I took my Dad down to emergency with my Mom. 17 days - this poor man has just had one thing after another after another after another - He can't seem to catch a break - just catches more problems! I won't bore everyone with all the details but what I can say it's really been a roller coaster with more downs than ups.

I know it's not just him - everyone has their problems - Even his minister - who came down right after he went in called him and here he did something to his leg and couldn't come down again until this week - then to top it off their church organist - who happens to be my neighbor had an emergency appendicitis - so this past Sunday's service at my parents church had no music and a sick minister!

Here is a picture of my Dad last Friday nite - After my Mom left he was complaining on how greasy his hair felt - Well I know the feeling as I can't go a day without washing my hair and he went well over a week - so I ran down to the gift shop and found this "no rinse" stuff that doesn't require water - I went to ask the Nurse for a towel and she said they have these shower cap things that you microwave, put on, massage, and then towel dryer - all with no water. So I "washed" his hair and then he wanted to see it but he couldn't walk and i couldn't find a mirror - so I got out my phone and took a picture with the camera phone - I got a semi-smile out of him even though he had a bad day and he gave me the thumbs up in the pic. He said that it made him feel more "human". So here is a pic of him in all his sickness induced scrawniness!

Before I left that night - I asked him if there was anything else he needed. He said "Josie, I need some courage to get through this". So I said goodnight and I would work on that! Well what's a daughter to do but call up the Cowardly Lion and borrow his "Badge of Courage" - wrap it up and send it down to the Hospital (okay okay reality here - i stopped at the party store on the way home and found a plastic badge of courage in the Wizard of Oz section and wrapped it dropped it off for my Mom to take in the morning since I wasn't visiting on Saturday - I took the day off and met up with Kathy and Beth at the York Folk Art Sale - which was a wonderful day out - thanks girls! Well my Dad was so tickled with this I was told he wore it most of the day on his hospital gown and then had the nurse tape it up on his bulletin board so he could see it. He has told me over and over how much that has lifted his spirits this past week. Glad I could help.

On Tuesday he had surgery and I have to say - after surgery - my Mom and I were waiting in his room and he was wheeled down the hall and was joking with his nurses, orderlies, doctors and looked great (what i mean by that is great compared to the previous week) - image that! Wednesday was an even better day. Thursday was even better, and then today was supposed to be one of the best - he was scheduled to be released to a manor care home for Rehab (my Dad has jokingly called this his halfway house). I took my Mom down and we brought in his clothes and bags to pack up belongings and around 3:30 he had another set-back and they would not release him. He was so mad at himself for mentioning this new problem and was very down - he made me pull the Badge of Courage out of his overnite bag and re-hang it in his room! I felt so bad for him but it would have been worse had we taken him to the rehab place and then had to bring him back (oh and if anyone is wondering why the handicapped van or ambulance wasn't scheduled to take him - think base rate of $100/hr and $6 mile! It's over an hour away - outrageous in my opinion) So we hung out with him for a while and I tried cheering him up telling him to "look on the bright side" and all that as I'm pretty much an optimistic - he's doing a bit better but I couldn't believe it when he called me when I got home and told me he ended up (of all things) breaking a tooth - He said now he looks like bugs bunny! What next!

So that's the latest - He's still fighting and I really really hope the worst is over. There really isn't any more options for him. So thank you my friends who have sent your prayers for his healing. I told him a lot of people that don't him are pulling for him.

Well on Monday we had about 12-14 inches of snow so of course I didn't go to the hospital. I started a new rug and every time I tried to hook - this is what happened
I think someone is upset that I haven't been home much lately. He just sits there like "Go ahead and try to move me - I dare you".

Saturday was the Folk Art Sale in York - met up with Kathy and Beth and we walked both sides of the show and went to lunch and back again for another look around. I was tempted to buy some things but held back. Love going to these kinda of things - it's great to get new ideas and a new look on things.

Haven't really done much else - I have whipped most all my rugs I have been remiss on finishing off - I take them with me to sit with my Dad - i think i have 2 small ones left to finish off - or maybe I'm down to one. Hoping I don't need to take any more to the hospital as I'm hoping he will be in Rehab and then home where he belongs.

I'm so behind on things - especially my "interneting" - I love reading every one's blogs to catch up on their lives and even the online groups I belong to - heck you miss a day or so and you are lost!

Sorry for the long post and wishing everyone a wonderful and HEALTHY weekend and again thank you for your thoughts and prayers and positive thoughts!

Warm hugs, joanne
