This is a pic of him on the day of his very last visit to the vet - the day we had to say goodbye.
1989-2006
This is the rug I did in his memory (If i posted this before - sorry!)

I just love this pic of Sid and Nicky butts! They are sitting on a big pillow in front of the lit fireplace (This pic had to be around the year we moved in the house because in this pic we had carpet and that fireplace screen i absolutely hated - one day i ripped it right on out of there! So this had to be about 12-13 years ago)

So that's a few pics of my Nicky - As I said before he was a great cat. He was my special guy. Had such an easy going demeanor. I had taught him to give "kisses" - I would say give me a kiss - he would bow his head and "bonk" my check. Too cute except when i was sleeping - he would give me "running bonks" - start at the end of the bed and bonk my cheek so hard one time my head flew off the pillow and the side of the bed into the nightstand - ouch - my husband saw it happen and still laughs about nearly 20 years later. Nick was big boy - 22 pounds at his heaviest and funny thing was he really didn't eat that much - just like people I guess - some bigger than others. We had a few scares with Nicky thru the years - he was prone to seizures- they lessened considerably. Weird! He also developed hyperthyroidism - after one very expensive shot and a week at a place called "Radio Cat" - he was good as new under that last few weeks when we found out he had cancer.
I miss this big guy every single day - he has certainly left his paw print on my heart forever!

Okay - deep breaths and tissues - moving on - The last few days it's been dreary and it sure affects the mood - Again warning - more cat pictures - here's a few pics of what the furry ones have been doing (I swear they can log some nap time!)
I found Miles asleep under the quilt on our bed - I went into the room - it was completely dark and lifted the covers and took this picture - this was yesterday:

Whenever you wake Miles up he always stands up and starts "dancing" (kneading and purring) so here he is coming out of the quilt:
Here's a pic taken this afternoon - I was doing laundry - came up and dumped my husbands socks, underwear, t-shirts, etc. (I don't put away his laundry - if he can't find it - it's his fault!) - Found Miles sound asleep in his on his boxer shorts!
Here's a pic from yesterday morning when we got a few sunbeams - I had just got done steaming my rug I just finished and there was sliver of sunbeams coming thru the window!
You find the cats in the funniest spots - later that evening my husband said "Did you see where Riley was sleeping" - So i grabbed the camera - here is is asleep on a pile of junk on my old trunk which is at the top of the landing - there is a railing there but it's a long drop behind it down to the living room - I had thrown the rug over the railing - So there's Riley atop the junk and rug - how it was comfortable - I'll never know!

Hope everyone is having a good week and be sure to give your family, kids, and 4-legged kids big hugs as time goes by so darn quick!

Awww...your furbabies sure are cute...
it is funny how you can find them anywhere...we only have one and she is enough but she has an attitude...but we
find her in so many different places sometimes I can't even find her and I have thought she has gotten out of the house...then all of a sudden she shows up looking at you like what do you want..
it is sad when you loose one though..
and I am sorry for your lost..
Thanks for sharing your pics with us...

AWWWW!! Joanne I feel your pain. I get choked up when I think about pets I've lost, they are part of your family.
I believe we will meet our pets in heaven.
Joanne, so sorry about Nicky. I understand your loss and pain. We've been without our Riley for almost 3 years. He was the best cat and we all miss him terribly. He slept with us everynight, I miss that deadweight lump that wouldn't move, I had to move! He started out everynight with child #2, then would come to bed with me. Isn't it amazing how they worm their way into our hearts?! Glad you still have 2 to keep you company. ~Ann
Joanne,
Love those fat cat butts. Reminds me of many of the cats I have had over the years. Since I had to give them up to rent in the city, I have to get my "cat fix" from you and Kelley.
Please know I understand your grief and have felt it myself many times. Thanks for sharing your cat pictures with your friends today,
trisha
I know just what you mean Joanne! Hwat an impact they have on our lives! Every March 11, I think about how old my Patches would have been...ugh! You kitty was such a cutie pie!!! HUGS!!! CATHY
Joanne, you can never post too many pictures or talk too much about your cats, at least where I'm concerned. We've lost so many cats over the years, especially when we had that outbreak of FeLV. But.....they may leave this life but they never leave our hearts.
I still miss Cricket, even though he was so obviously Gerry's cat. Then again, September wasn't that long ago.
Of all of the cats we've had, one stands head and shoulders above all others and that's Squeegee. He was our first purebred Siamese and was so human-like, it was like having a child around all the time. He was only 10 when he developed cancer of the tongue and it had spread before we caught it. It's been almost 5 years since he died and I can honestly say that a day doesn't go by that I don't think of him. We miss him so much.
Even when we get so exasperated with our cats because of their antics, ya just gotta love 'em. Each one is so unique, so loved, and so missed when they leave us too soon.
What great pictures Joanne! And how wonderful you can look at those pictures when you think of them. Therapuetic for you to write about your memories also. Glad you shared it all with us. Love the butt picture too. Cute!
Nicky had a very long life. Was definitely well loved. You can see that all your cats are a big part of your family. Hope you share more. Great shots of Miles and Riley!
What great pictures. It is hard to look at the old pictures of our babies we have lost.
