Move It On Over

Wow I didn't realize I haven't posted in so long!  Hard to believe it's nearing the end of February rather than the beginning!

Well this month I managed to turn another year older (and don't you know it that darn AARP is still sending me info - don't they understand that 51 is really 31 and I'm not ready for their stuff!).  I was, however, walking thru a store the other day, and they said "Join the 50+ Plus" club - on Tuesdays you get 10% off your total order.  Okay - anything to save a buck I will do - but I still say it's hard to believe it applies to me.   It's just a number but I just am not feeling that its possible!

Last Friday we had the 2nd update for the Primitive Homemade Mercantile.  If you have a moment, click on the picture on the right side of the blog and check out everyone's wares.  You won't be disappointed!

I did a few items for the update and also some "smalls" for the Cinnamon Stick in Hereford (Spice Cupboard Blog).

Here's some pics of some of the items that went to one or the other- not everything got pictured:

(this sheep I backed with a cream/black ticking and made it into a pillow)

(These are backed with cotton prints and made into pillows)

So when I can I hook (as you can see I have a very cute obstacle!)...

I managed to get a few of the above rugs done!  Mr. Q has become quite the helper - if he's not helping with my hooking, he literally rides the "Swiffer" when I try to clean the floor, if I have a duster out - he steals it and runs off with it (now to only get him to clean with it!); if i'm hanging laundry on the drying rack he plays on the rack like a jungle gym, any piece of paper in the house is still not safe from his clutches, neither is a "cap" to a soda or a bottle of water - the second you set it down he's off with it.  Let's just say he puts in a very busy day - he rarely will nap unless you are sitting somewhere near!  Oh and he can often be found bothering his brothers and "wrasslin" with them.  I am so happy they all get along and have fun with each other - they are quite the characters to watch!

It's hard to believe how big he's gotten and he's still got some growing to do!

Tomorrow my little "baby" will be 5 months old already! Can you believe it!

Oh I did manage to pull the last loop on my antique adaptation rug we are doing thru my group AAPG on Sunday night - Still have to "whip" it (finish the edges) and not sure what color wool I will use - gold? dark brown?  Haven't decided if I want the "framed" look using the gold or a dark brown to just blend in.

Nothing much has been going on around here - but I will say the weather has been wonderfully mild and hope it continues - I can handle winters like this!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

So glad to see a post from you Joanne.
Wait until you get to 65 then you'll really wonder how you got there, I only said to Tom today, I actually feel about 48 inside, its the mirror I have to get rid of, lol
I love the sheep one, its gorgeous.
Q is looking so, so good, when I think back to that teeny little ball, you did such a good job and he loves you for it.
Keep warm

Wonderful rugs and you did a beautiful job on the antique adaption. He sure has grown since we last saw him, filling right out and turning into a beautiful kitty.

Joanne, Look how big he is! I see stripes in his fur too, hadn't seen them before. He sounds just like the gray cat at our house...into everything! I keep threatening to throw him out the back door. Carrie tells me I'm making idle threats....

Enjoyed your rug hooking creations. I haven't touched my hooking projects since school started. Thank goodness we are on the countdown of school being over! ~Ann

I love your rugs for the Mercantile. I've visited several artists and find some nice stuff.

Quentin has brought you a lot of joy and entertainment for such a small little guy. It's sweet how you keep track of his age. You sound just like a proud mother.

Getting older kinds of sneak up on us and it's something that I still have a difficult time to realize that I'm 65. How did it happened so fast?
