Cats In The Cradle

Well this weekend was all about the animals!

First I like to thank everyone on your comments for Jonesy - Actually - there is nothing different about him than before the Vet visit except now we know he has a heart murmur.  I will call the vet sometime this week and ask some questions I didn't think of earlier and ones that Pat (hook, hand and heart) asked me if I knew.  Guess I was kinda stunned and just didn't think to ask anything.  It's almost so easy to come home and "look it up" but really you need to use info on the web as background info as it's so conflicting - same with doctor info for ourselves!

I was invited to Joan's hook-in out near the Gettysburg area.   She has a big hook-in ever fall and one thing you must do to attend is to help her "fill her truck" with supplies for the Adams County SPCA.  What a great cause!  And I do believe her truck was looking pretty full.

I stayed at Linda's and she drove us over in the morning.  It was great seeing some old friends and I did manage to pull maybe 20 loops - maybe!  Just was more of mood to sit back and enjoy the day.  Kathy had to leave almost as soon as she got there but I do believe she had her camera going so hopefully she will have better pics!

It was a fun day and thank you Joan for inviting me.  Joan goes over and above and I can well image all the work to prepare - she also has games and rafffles lined up (all to benefit the animals) and everyone goes home with a prize! I was the lucky recipient of some pretty blue wool and a book.  I didn't really take any pictures of the day except of some of the rugs in the "rug show" in the back room.

I won't even attempt to name who's is who and even sure if i got all a pic of all the rugs....

This is one of the views from the porch of the house - nice and quiet and relaxing...

Now more animals - Jill brought a little kitty her and her husband rescued - they found two in her barn - ice cold - she immediately put them on a heating pad and started feeding them - One didn't make it - but this little guy (Maybe gal?) was a fighter - He is no bigger than my hand and Jill thinks he's only a few days old if that - Of couse many of us spent the day checking on him and feeding him and I'm even thinking of adopting him from Jill -  big maybe Jill (I don't mean to be wishywashy about it!)  Linda named him "Cassius" for the fighter - since he really is - I really hope he makes it!

Well I'm thinking I may be heading right back out that way again on Wednesday for the Thursday hook-in- Jill was campaigning to get everyone to come to Grant Street since she has the day off and Beth will be coming!  Always fun when they show up and always fun to have a crowd - big or small!

Today our anniversary - we got married in 1994 in a log cabin wedding chapel in the Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg Tennessee (Didn't tell anyone - just went on vacation!)  Hard to believe it's 17 years - was teasing my husband that it was 17 lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng years plus the seven we lived together before that plus the few years I knew him even before that - LOL!    So will be meeting him for dinner tonite - he's actually going "out" other than work and not staying home in his "bunker!" Image that!

Been spending the day doing wash, changing sheets, cleaning toilets, getting out some of my fall/winter clothes (even though it's hot and muggy today!).  Tomorrow is an eye doctor appointment smack in the middle of the day and who knows what else the day will bring.

Oh and I'm still having problems leaving comments - been trying different things and i think i may have gotten one or two to go thru and then i try it again and nada!  So I am keeping up on reading the blogs - just can't comment - but will keep trying!

Have a great day!

Happy Anniversary Joanne. I sure hope the little kitten makes it. They are supposed to be fed every two hours with a special formula and bottle you get at the vet. Their chance of survival is pretty low. Mine didn't make it because it was cold and wet and hungry for too long.

I hope that your cat will be all right.

Lovely rugs display. Some I already saw on Rug Hooking Daily. Hugs. JB
